Goulven

Goulven is a small village in the northern Finistère region, within the Léon area of Brittany, France. It is known for its parish church, Notre-Dame, featuring a traditional enclos paroissial and calvary typical of Breton religious architecture, as well as its wide sandy bay stretching towards the coastline. The nearby Keremma dunes offer an unspoilt natural setting, ideal for walking and observing coastal wildlife and flora. The surrounding salt marshes, where sheep sometimes graze, contribute to the area's culinary reputation, particularly for pré-salé lamb. The proximity of the seaside resort of Brignogan-Plages provides easy access to fine sandy beaches and sections of the GR34 coastal footpath, popular among hikers. The temperate oceanic climate, with mild summers and moderate winters, makes the area pleasant to visit for much of the year.
