Punta Del Hidalgo

Punta Del Hidalgo is a coastal village in the municipality of La Laguna, in northern Tenerife, Canary Islands. It marks the entrance to the Anaga massif, known for its hiking trails through laurel forest recognised as a UNESCO biosphere reserve. The coastline, shaped by ancient lava flows, features distinctive rock formations, including the basalt cliffs of Los Órganos, best seen from a boat. Facing the open Atlantic, the coast attracts surfers thanks to its strong swell, while natural rock pools carved into the volcanic shore provide a calmer alternative to the often rough sea. Unlike the busier resorts in the south of the island, this area remains largely residential and unspoilt, with a seafront promenade and a handful of bars and restaurants serving traditional Canarian dishes, particularly fresh fish. The climate here is cooler and damper than in southern Tenerife, owing to the influence of the trade winds. The village makes a convenient base for exploring the neighbouring town of Bajamar and the mountain roads of the Anaga Rural Park.
