Valderice

Valderice is a municipality in the province of Trapani, on the north-western coast of Sicily, situated between the historic hilltop town of Erice and the Tyrrhenian shoreline. Its territory includes the coastal hamlet of Bonagia, a former fishing village built around a traditional tuna-processing site (tonnara), along with residential districts such as Rigaletta and Crocevie. The area enjoys a typical Mediterranean climate, with hot, dry summers well suited to seaside holidays and mild winters. Nearby attractions include the beaches of Bonagia Bay and the Monte Cofano nature reserve, as well as the historic Trapani salt pans a little further south.
