Sant Llorenç des Cardassar

Sant Llorenç des Cardassar is an inland town in eastern Mallorca, in the Llevant region, just a few kilometres from the coastal areas of Sa Coma and Cala Millor, both of which fall within the municipality's boundaries. The town retains a typically rural Majorcan character, with stone houses, a parish church and quiet streets surrounding the main square. The surrounding countryside, planted with almond, carob and olive trees, is dotted with old windmills once used to draw water, remnants of the area's traditional farming heritage. Near the coast, the S'Estany d'en Mas wetland is a valued natural spot for birdwatching and walking. The sandy beaches of Sa Coma and Cala Millor, a short drive away, offer full tourist facilities, restaurants and water sports. The Mediterranean climate, with hot dry summers and mild winters, makes the area suitable for visits throughout the year. The town still holds its weekly market, reflecting local life, and serves as a convenient base for exploring both Mallorca's agricultural interior and the seaside resorts of the Llevant coast.
