Sant Elm/San Telmo

Sant Elm, also known as San Telmo, is a small coastal village within the municipality of Andratx, at the south-western tip of Mallorca. It looks out onto the islet of Sa Dragonera, a protected nature reserve reachable by a short boat trip from the village's small harbour. The settlement has retained the feel of a traditional fishing village, with a seafront lined by restaurants serving fresh seafood. The rocky shoreline is interspersed with small coves well suited to swimming, snorkelling and diving, thanks to clear, sheltered waters. From Sant Elm, a coastal footpath leads to La Trapa, a former agricultural estate restored as a conservation site, offering views over the coastline and sea. The village also lies along a possible section of the Ruta de Pedra en Sec (GR221), a long-distance hiking trail through the Serra de Tramuntana mountains, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Facing west, Sant Elm is a popular spot for watching the sunset over the Mediterranean. Overall, the atmosphere remains quiet and relatively undeveloped compared with other resort towns on the island.
