Binic

Binic is a small seaside town in the Côtes-d'Armor department, on the Penthièvre coast in Brittany, lying between Saint-Brieuc and Paimpol. Once a cod-fishing port with ties to Newfoundland, the town has retained its wet dock, now used as a marina, lined with 19th-century shipowners' houses. The long seafront promenade offers open views over the Bay of Saint-Brieuc and is a popular spot for a stroll, particularly at sunset. The sandy beach, supervised in season, is well suited to families thanks to generally calm waters. The temperate oceanic climate makes the area enjoyable for much of the year, with mild summers and moderate winters. Nearby, the coastal footpath (GR34) allows walkers to reach neighbouring towns such as Étables-sur-Mer or Saint-Quay-Portrieux, known for its casino and harbour. Binic also has local shops, seafood restaurants and a market, making it a convenient base for exploring the Brittany coastline away from the busiest tourist spots.
