Cala Llombards

Cala Llombards is a small cove on the south-east coast of Mallorca, part of the municipality of Santanyí in the Balearic Islands. It features shallow turquoise waters, fine white sand and low cliffs fringed with pine trees, typical of this stretch of the island's coastline. The modestly sized cove is popular for family swimming and snorkelling, thanks to the clear water and rocky seabed that shelters a variety of marine life. The surroundings remain relatively unspoilt compared with more built-up tourist areas of Mallorca, with a few residential properties set back from the beach. Cala Llombards lies close to other well-known coves in the area, such as Cala Santanyí and Cala Mondragó, the latter protected as a natural park. The village of Santanyí, known for its market and local sandstone architecture, is just a few kilometres away. The Mediterranean climate, with hot, dry summers, means the cove is busiest between May and September. The area draws a quieter type of tourism, geared towards relaxation and gentle water-based activities rather than nightlife.
