Felanitx

Felanitx is an inland town in Majorca, located in the Migjorn region, just a few kilometres from the east coast and the fishing port of Portocolom. Its historic centre retains a typically Majorcan character, dominated by the parish church of Sant Miquel, alongside several traditional windmills that reflect the town's agricultural past. Nearby, the Sant Salvador sanctuary, perched on a hilltop, provides sweeping views over the surrounding countryside and the sea. The area is known for its wine production, part of the Pla i Llevant designation, as well as for fig cultivation and a local tradition of pottery-making. Felanitx makes a convenient base for exploring nearby coves and beaches such as Portocolom and Cala Marçal, while still being within reasonable reach of Palma. The Mediterranean climate, with warm, dry summers and mild winters, favours outdoor pursuits, countryside walks and exploring the island's rural heritage. The atmosphere here remains more authentic and less touristy than along the coast, offering a genuine glimpse into traditional Majorcan life.
