Esporles

Esporles is an inland village in Majorca, nestled in the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range, a short drive north-west of Palma. Set within a lush valley surrounded by hills, the village has traditionally relied on agriculture and small-scale textile industries, traces of which can still be seen in its architecture. The village centre retains an authentic charm, with narrow lanes, stone houses and a parish church. The surrounding countryside offers excellent walking opportunities, particularly towards La Granja, a former agricultural estate open to visitors that showcases traditional crafts and historic gardens. The area is valued for its tranquillity and unspoilt natural surroundings, well away from the busier coastal resorts. The Mediterranean climate, with hot, dry summers and mild winters, makes it ideal for outdoor pursuits such as hiking and cycling, both popular activities in this part of the island. Esporles therefore makes an appealing base for exploring Majorca's rural interior, sampling local cuisine and enjoying mountain scenery, while remaining conveniently close to the amenities of Palma.
