Campos

Campos is a municipality in the south of Majorca, in Spain's Balearic Islands, best known for its proximity to Es Trenc beach, one of the island's most celebrated stretches of coastline, with turquoise waters and fine sand backed by dunes. The municipal area is also home to the Trenc salt flats, still in operation today and reflecting a long-standing agricultural tradition, alongside the cultivation of almond and fig trees typical of the inland countryside. The historic centre of Campos retains traditional Majorcan architecture, with stone houses and quiet streets set around the parish church of Sant Julià. The surrounding countryside, dotted with traditional windmills, makes for pleasant walks and offers a glimpse of the island's rural way of life. Local cuisine favours seafood and traditional Majorcan farmhouse dishes. Well connected by the main road linking Palma to the south of the island, Campos serves as a peaceful base for exploring both the coastline and the interior, away from the busier, more built-up tourist areas of Majorca.
