La Caletta

La Caletta is a seaside resort on the north-eastern coast of Sardinia, part of the municipality of Siniscola in the province of Nuoro. Facing the Tyrrhenian Sea, it enjoys a Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers, making it well suited to coastal holidays. The village has a small harbour and a fine sandy beach popular for swimming and water sports. Nearby, visitors can easily reach several well-regarded beaches along the Baronia coast, such as Berchida and Capo Comino, as well as the Bidderosa nature reserve, known for its dunes, umbrella pines and turquoise waters. The Monte Albo massif rises in the background, offering a rugged limestone landscape ideal for walking and hiking. The wider Siniscola area retains a rural and pastoral heritage typical of inland Sardinia, with local specialities including pecorino cheese and regional wines. La Caletta therefore serves as a convenient base for exploring both the coastline and the Sardinian hinterland, in a setting that remains relatively untouched by mass tourism.
