Golfo Aranci

Golfo Aranci is a small coastal town on the north-eastern coast of Sardinia, in the Gallura area, close to Olbia and within easy reach of the well-known Costa Smeralda. Its name, evoking orange trees, is closely linked to its ferry port, which offers connections to several mainland Italian cities such as Civitavecchia and Livorno, making it a convenient gateway to the island. The town is valued for its fine sandy beaches and clear waters, including Cala Sabina and Cala Greca, framed by the granite rock formations typical of the region. The Capo Figari headland, with its old lighthouse and walking trails, offers views over the gulf and forms part of a protected natural area home to wild mouflon. The surrounding marine waters are popular for diving and observing local sea life. The village retains a relaxed, unpretentious seaside character, with a handful of restaurants serving freshly caught fish and seafood. Golfo Aranci therefore makes a quiet base from which to explore the northern Sardinian coastline, combining sea, nature and easy travel connections.
