Cala Murada

Cala Murada is a small coastal resort on the south-eastern shore of Majorca, in the Balearic Islands, part of the municipality of Manacor. Developed from the 1960s onwards as a residential and holiday development, it retains a quiet, family-friendly atmosphere, set apart from the busier tourist hubs of the island. The town takes its name from a natural cove fringed by rocks and pine trees, with the clear turquoise waters typical of Majorca's coastline. The modest-sized beach is popular for swimming and snorkelling thanks to its calm, transparent sea. The surrounding area mainly consists of villas and holiday homes, along with a handful of local shops, restaurants and supermarkets. Cala Murada makes a convenient base for exploring nearby coves such as Cala Domingos and Cala Antena, as well as for day trips to livelier towns like Porto Cristo or Cala d'Or. The Mediterranean climate, with hot, dry summers and mild winters, draws most visitors between May and October. Overall, it remains a peaceful spot, well suited to a relaxing seaside stay.
