Porto Cervo

Porto Cervo is a town on the Costa Smeralda, on Sardinia's north-eastern coast, developed from the 1960s onwards by an international consortium led by the Aga Khan. The village is centred around the Piazzetta, a central square lined with luxury boutiques and restaurants, and the marina, which hosts numerous yachts throughout the summer season. The Stella Maris church, designed by architect Michele Busiri Vici, overlooks the seafront and houses some contemporary artworks. The surrounding area offers coves and white sandy beaches with turquoise waters, such as Liscia di Vacca and Capriccioli, alongside the pink granite rock formations typical of the region. The Pevero Golf Club, designed by Robert Trent Jones, lies nearby. Porto Cervo is also known for its lively summer nightlife, with several venues attracting an international crowd. Olbia Airport, the main access point, is around twenty kilometres away, and boat excursions run from here to the Maddalena archipelago. The destination is strongly seasonal, bustling in summer and considerably quieter for the rest of the year.
