Teulada

Teulada is a municipality in southern Sardinia, in the province of Sud Sardegna, known for its rugged coastline and the well-regarded beaches of the Chia area, including Su Giudeu, Cala Cipolla and Porto Zafferano, backed by dunes and pine woods. The territory stretches between sea and hills covered in Mediterranean scrub and cork oaks, the latter supporting a traditional cork industry. The Capo Malfatano headland, with its Spanish watchtower, offers a distinctive viewpoint over the coast. Part of the coastal area is also occupied by a military firing range. Agriculturally, Teulada lies within the production area of Carignano del Sulcis, a local red wine. The village itself, set back from the beaches, retains a rural character with narrow streets and a parish church. The Mediterranean climate, hot and dry in summer, makes the area popular for seaside holidays from May to September, while the hinterland is suited to walking and to exploring scattered nuragic remains found across the territory.
