Pula

Pula is a town in southern Sardinia, in the province of Cagliari, roughly thirty kilometres from the Sardinian capital. The area is best known for the archaeological site of Nora, a former Punic and later Roman settlement built on a small peninsula, where visitors can explore remains including baths, mosaics and a theatre. The surrounding coastline offers several fine sandy beaches, notably Su Guventeddu and the beach at Nora itself, both popular for their calm, shallow waters. The region enjoys a Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers, ideal for seaside holidays. Pula also has well-developed tourist facilities, including hotel resorts and the well-regarded Is Molas golf course, which draws an international clientele. Inland, the landscape is characterised by typical Mediterranean scrubland and the hills of the Sulcis area, offering opportunities for walking and exploring away from the coast. The proximity to Cagliari makes day trips to the city and its airport straightforward, adding to the destination's accessibility.
