Arvert

Arvert is a village in the Charente-Maritime department, in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, located on the Arvert peninsula between the Gironde estuary and the Marennes-Oléron basin. The village retains a rural character typical of this stretch of the Atlantic coast, with its low-built houses and local market. The area enjoys a mild oceanic climate, well suited to seaside holidays, and lies close to well-known resorts such as La Palmyre, Ronce-les-Bains and Les Mathes, as well as the wide sandy beaches of the Côte de Beauté. The pine forest covering much of the peninsula offers numerous walking trails and cycle paths linking the surrounding villages. The nearby Marennes-Oléron oyster basin makes it easy to discover local oyster farming and related activities. Royan, a larger town with shops and a marina, is around fifteen kilometres away. Arvert therefore makes a convenient base for exploring the Charente coastline, combining beaches, marshland and forest, while offering a peaceful, green setting for a relaxed stay.
