Andratx

Andratx is a municipality in south-west Majorca, in Spain's Balearic Islands, set against the foothills of the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range. It comprises the historic inland town of Andratx and the coastal village of Port d'Andratx, where a small marina is lined with seafood restaurants and sea-facing terraces. The area is known for its mountainous scenery, popular with walkers, as well as almond and olive groves that shape the surrounding countryside. A traditional market is held in the town centre, bringing local produce to its streets. Nearby, Sant Elm beach looks out towards the uninhabited island of Sa Dragonera, reachable by boat and valued for its nature trails. Andratx is also home to a contemporary art centre hosting temporary exhibitions. The Mediterranean climate, with hot, dry summers and mild winters, supports visitor numbers across much of the year. Altogether, it makes for a destination that combines coast, mountains and traditional Majorcan rural heritage.
