Anneville-sur-Mer

Anneville-sur-Mer is a small village in the Manche department of Normandy, located on the western coast of the Cotentin peninsula, facing the English Channel. The area is defined by an unspoilt coastal setting, with a sandy beach backed by dunes and a hinterland of marshland typical of this part of the Cotentin. The village lies close to Coutances, known for its Gothic cathedral, and to Lessay, home to a Romanesque abbey church. The coastline in this area, between Blainville-sur-Mer and Créances, is well suited to shellfish gathering, walking and board sports such as sand yachting, thanks to the wide expanses of sand exposed at low tide. The wider region remains largely rural and peaceful, offering a restful setting away from Normandy's busier seaside resorts. With a mild oceanic climate, featuring gentle summers and temperate winters, the area is well suited to nature-based stays, cycling and exploring the local Cotentin heritage, set between sea, marshland and Norman countryside.
