La Cadière d'Azur

La Cadière d'Azur is a hilltop village in the Var department, located in the hinterland of Bandol, within the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. Built on a rocky outcrop, it retains a medieval character with narrow lanes, remnants of ramparts and traditional stone houses typical of the area. The village overlooks a landscape of well-known vineyards, as the commune lies at the heart of the Bandol wine appellation, celebrated for its age-worthy red wines made largely from the Mourvèdre grape. Surrounding wine estates often offer tours and tastings. La Cadière d'Azur is also recognised for its dining scene, home to several notable restaurants, including the Hostellerie Bérard, set in a former convent. The Mediterranean coast lies just a ten-minute drive away, giving easy access to the beaches of Bandol or Sanary-sur-Mer.
