St-Jean-du-Doigt

Saint-Jean-du-Doigt is a small village in Finistère, on the north coast of Brittany, between Morlaix and Plestin-les-Grèves, by the bay of Locquirec. The village is best known for its parish close (enclos paroissial), one of the most notable in the region, featuring a listed church housing religious artworks and a monumental fountain. This heritage reflects the site's historical significance, linked to an ancient pilgrimage tradition. The commune extends to the coast, giving access to beaches and unspoilt natural surroundings, ideal for walking along the coastal path (GR34) that follows the cliffs and coves typical of this part of the Trégor area in Finistère. The surrounding countryside is well suited to hiking, nature watching and discovering rural Breton heritage, with its stone houses and hedgerowed farmland. The region enjoys a temperate oceanic climate, with mild summers and relatively gentle winters. Saint-Jean-du-Doigt makes a peaceful base for exploring the north Finistère coast, close to more popular spots such as Locquirec or Morlaix, while retaining a distinctly rural and authentic character.
