Castro

Castro is a small village located in the Blenio Valley, in the canton of Ticino, in Italian-speaking Switzerland. Nestled within this alpine valley, it enjoys an unspoilt natural setting amid mountains and forests typical of the southern Swiss Alps. The Blenio Valley region is known for its green landscapes, traditional stone hamlets and peaceful atmosphere, well away from the bustle of Ticino's larger resorts. Thanks to its proximity to Italy, the climate here is milder and sunnier than elsewhere in Switzerland, making it well suited to hiking and outdoor activities for much of the year.
