Alignan du vent

Alignan-du-Vent is a village in the Hérault department, located in the Thau basin, close to both Béziers and Montpellier. The setting is typical of the Languedoc countryside, with vineyards covering much of the local landscape and reflecting the area's strong winemaking tradition, with several estates and cellars offering local wine tastings. Its location makes it easy to reach the Mediterranean coast, including Marseillan and Sète, as well as the Thau lagoon, well known for oyster farming and seafood tasting. Those keen on the outdoors will find plenty of scope for walking through the surrounding countryside, where scrubland and farmland meet. The Mediterranean climate, with hot, dry summers and mild winters, makes outdoor activities enjoyable for much of the year. Nearby Béziers offers a taste of regional history, while Montpellier provides a livelier, more urban atmosphere less than an hour away by car. Alignan-du-Vent therefore makes for a peaceful base from which to explore the vineyards of the Languedoc and the nearby Mediterranean shoreline.
