Roquebrune sur Argens

Roquebrune-sur-Argens is a town in the Var department of Provence, best known for its distinctive red rock formation overlooking the Argens valley, visible for miles around. The old village retains a network of medieval lanes, a church and remnants of former fortifications, typical of the perched villages of Provence. The commune stretches down to the Mediterranean coast, including the Saint-Aygulf district, which offers sandy beaches and watersports, while the nearby Argens estuary and the Villepey nature reserve attract those interested in birdwatching and countryside walks. Lying within the Côtes de Provence wine-growing area, the surrounding countryside includes several vineyards open for tours and tastings. The area also features golf courses and numerous campsites and holiday parks, well suited to family stays.
