Plouha

Plouha is a town in the Côtes-d'Armor department, on the Goëlo coast between Saint-Brieuc and Paimpol. It is known for its dramatic cliffs, among the highest in Brittany, offering striking views over the English Channel. The Bréhec natural site and its beach draw visitors seeking unspoilt scenery, while the coastal footpath (GR34) allows walkers to follow the shoreline and discover coves such as Port Moguer, notable for its links to French Resistance escape networks during the Second World War. The inland village of Plouha retains a typically rural Breton character, with its church and stone houses. The area enjoys a temperate oceanic climate, particularly pleasant in spring and summer. Outdoor activities in the surroundings include walking, cycling, shore fishing and seabird watching along the cliffs. Plouha makes a convenient base for exploring Paimpol, the Île de Bréhat or the beaches of the Pink Granite Coast, all while enjoying a preserved, largely unspoilt natural setting.
