Agarone

Agarone is a small village in the canton of Ticino, in Italian-speaking Switzerland, part of the municipality of Cugnasco-Gerra within the Locarno district. Set on the hillside overlooking the Magadino plain, it enjoys views across the Ticino Alps and the nearby Lake Maggiore. The area benefits from a mild microclimate, shaped by the lake, which supports Mediterranean-style vegetation, vineyards and the chestnut groves typical of Ticino. The village retains a rural character, with traditional stone houses and narrow lanes, offering a peaceful setting away from the busier tourist spots of Locarno and Ascona, both just a short distance away.
