Cavallino

Cavallino is a locality within the municipality of Cavallino-Treporti, situated on a long strip of land between the Venice Lagoon and the Adriatic Sea, in the province of Venice, Veneto. It forms part of the Cavallino-Treporti coastline, known for its extensive fine sandy beaches stretching several kilometres, backed by pine woods. The area is particularly noted for its high concentration of campsites and holiday villages, making it one of Europe's leading seaside destinations for this type of accommodation. Its location is ideal for visiting Venice, reachable by vaporetto or boat from Punta Sabbioni, just a short crossing across the lagoon. The surrounding area also offers opportunities for cycling along the coast, as well as exploring the lagoon and its neighbouring islands such as Burano and Torcello. The Mediterranean climate, with hot, dry summers, makes it well suited to beach holidays from June to September. Local cuisine reflects Venetian traditions, with an emphasis on seafood and regional specialities.
