Leissigen

Leissigen is a small village on the northern shore of Lake Thun, in the canton of Bern, nestled at the foot of the Bernese Oberland's alpine foothills. Its lakeside setting makes it a popular starting point for swimming, boating and lakeside walks, with open views towards the surrounding peaks, including the Niederhorn and neighbouring ranges. The village retains a peaceful, rural character typical of settlements in this lakeside region, with traditional houses and terraced vineyards that benefit from Lake Thun's favourable microclimate. Leissigen lies close to larger tourist towns such as Interlaken and Spiez, both easily reached by train or boat, making it a convenient base for exploring the region's well-known attractions, from gorges to mountain hiking trails. The local railway station, served by the BLS line, provides straightforward connections to Thun and Interlaken.
