Campo Blenio

Campo Blenio is a small mountain village in the Blenio Valley, in the northern part of the canton of Ticino, Italian-speaking Switzerland, not far from the Lukmanier Pass, which links the region to the Grisons. Set at a notable altitude, the village enjoys an unspoilt alpine setting, surrounded by forests, pastures and peaks that often rise above 2,000 metres. The typical Ticino architecture, with its stone houses and granite slab roofs, reflects a rural way of life still very much present in the valley. The area is popular for summer hiking, with numerous trails leading to nearby alpine meadows and mountain lakes, as well as for winter activities, with the proximity of the Lukmanier Pass making it well suited to cross-country skiing and snowshoeing excursions. The Blenio Valley is also known for its cheese-making tradition, with alpine dairies producing local cheeses using traditional methods. Quieter than the more touristy towns in the southern part of the canton, Campo Blenio offers a peaceful setting, ideal for a nature-focused stay away from the bustle found elsewhere in Ticino.
