Habkern

Habkern is a village in the canton of Bern, tucked away in the Bernese Oberland just a few kilometres from Interlaken, within the Habkerntal valley. Surrounded by alpine meadows and forests, this traditional hamlet is characterised by its timber chalets and a farming economy still centred on dairy cattle and alpine cheese production. The village serves as a popular starting point for summer hikes, particularly towards the Augstmatthorn peak or the Lombachalp plateau, both offering sweeping views over Lake Brienz and the surrounding mountains.
