Gampel-Bratsch

Gampel-Bratsch is a municipality in the Upper Valais, within the district of Leuk, formed by the merger of the villages of Gampel and Bratsch. Situated in the Rhône valley, close to the linguistic border between French- and German-speaking Switzerland, it enjoys the dry, sunny climate typical of central Valais, well suited to vineyards and orchards. The town is best known for hosting the annual Open Air Gampel, one of Switzerland's major rock and pop music festivals, which draws visitors over several days each summer.
