Inden

Inden is a small village in the canton of Valais, in the district of Leuk, Switzerland, not far from the thermal spa resort of Leukerbad. Nestled in the Dala valley, surrounded by wooded slopes and the rocky cliffs typical of the Valais alpine landscape, this hamlet offers a quiet and authentic setting away from the busier tourist spots. The region is known for its terraced vineyards, grown on sun-exposed hillsides sloping down towards the Rhône valley, as well as for its dry, sunny climate typical of central Valais. Walkers will find numerous trails nearby connecting Inden to neighbouring villages and leading towards the thermal baths of Leukerbad, renowned since Roman times for their natural hot springs. In winter, the region's ski areas, including those around the Gemmi Pass, are within easy reach. This small village makes a peaceful base from which to explore the mountain scenery, traditional Valais vineyards, and unspoilt nature of this part of the Swiss Alps, away from the crowds yet well connected to local tourist facilities.
