Cugnasco

Cugnasco is a village in the canton of Ticino, in Italian-speaking Switzerland, part of the municipality of Cugnasco-Gerra within the district of Locarno. It lies in the Magadino plain, between the shores of Lake Maggiore and the foothills of the Ticino Alps, just a short distance from Bellinzona, the cantonal capital. The area enjoys a mild climate typical of the southern Alps, with warm summers and comparatively gentle winters, supporting the Mediterranean-style vegetation found throughout the region. The surrounding landscape, featuring vineyards, market gardens and protected natural areas within the Magadino plain, provides a peaceful setting well suited to walking and cycling.
