Paglieta

Paglieta is a small town in the province of Chieti, in the Abruzzo region of Italy. Set among the hills of the Sangro valley, not far from the Adriatic coast, it enjoys a mild Mediterranean climate softened by its coastal proximity, with warm summers and gentle winters. The surrounding countryside is typical of the Abruzzo hinterland, characterised by rolling hills given over to olive groves and vineyards, with olive oil production being a well-known regional speciality. Paglieta lies just a short drive from the beaches of Fossacesia Marina and the Costa dei Trabocchi, known for its traditional wooden fishing platforms dotted along the shoreline, as well as from the historic towns of Lanciano and Vasto. The area offers opportunities for countryside walks and exploring the surrounding farmland and hillsides. The town retains a quiet, rural character, away from the main tourist crowds, making it a pleasant base for discovering both the Adriatic coastline and the inland hills of Abruzzo in an authentic, unspoilt setting.
