Sachsenburg - Drautal

Sachsenburg, in Carinthia's Drau valley, is a small village nestled beneath a hill topped by the ruins of its old castle, a reminder of the medieval history of the region, when it once guarded passage through the valley. The River Drau flows through the settlement and runs alongside the Drauradweg cycle path, a well-known long-distance route linking East Tyrol to Slovenia, popular for its gentle, family-friendly sections.
