Königsleiten

Königsleiten is a small mountain hamlet within the municipality of Wald im Pinzgau, in the Austrian province of Salzburg, sitting at an altitude of around 1,600 metres. It forms part of the Zillertal Arena ski area, which links several resorts including Gerlos, Hochkrimml and Zell am Ziller, offering an extensive network of interconnected pistes. The settlement developed as a modern winter sports resort, with direct access to lifts and alpine ski runs, complemented by cross-country skiing and snowshoeing options. In summer, the area serves as a base for hiking and mountain biking, with a network of marked trails crossing the surrounding alpine pastures and providing views over the peaks of the Pinzgau and neighbouring Zillertal regions. The nearby Gerlos Pass has historically connected Salzburg with Tyrol and remains a popular scenic route through the mountains. The overall setting retains a rural, mountain character, with traditional chalets and a quiet atmosphere well suited to nature-based tourism throughout the year, both in winter and summer.
