Prutz

Prutz is a village in the Austrian Tyrol, located in the Inn Valley (Oberinntal), within the Landeck district. It serves as a gateway to the Kaunertal, an alpine valley known for its glacier and high-altitude ski area, accessible in both summer and winter. The village is also linked by cable car to the Fendels plateau, offering ski slopes and hiking trails with views over the surrounding peaks. Prutz is known locally for activities on the River Inn, including rafting and river boarding in the nearby gorges. Traditional Tyrolean architecture, with flower-decked balconies and a village church, characterises the centre of the settlement. The region has a distinctly alpine climate, with mild summers suited to walking and snowy winters ideal for winter sports. Its proximity to the larger Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis ski area and the Kaunertal glacier makes Prutz a convenient base for mountain enthusiasts. The village retains a quiet, rural character, surrounded by meadows and coniferous forests typical of the Tiroler Oberland region.
