Zweisimmen

Zweisimmen is a village in the Obersimmental region of the canton of Bern, nestled within the Gstaad tourist area of German-speaking Switzerland. Its railway station serves as an important junction on the scenic GoldenPass line, connecting Montreux to Interlaken via the MOB (Montreux Oberland Bernois) railway. The Rinderberg ski area, reached by cable car from the village, offers family-friendly slopes alongside views over the surrounding peaks and valley. Nearby, the Sparenmoos plateau is a popular starting point for hiking and cross-country skiing in winter. The village retains a distinctly Bernese character, with traditional chalets and a church tower typical of the region. The local economy remains rooted in mountain agriculture, particularly dairy and cheese production characteristic of the Bernese Oberland.
