Villeneuve

Villeneuve is a small town in the canton of Vaud, located at the eastern tip of Lake Geneva, between Montreux and the Chablais region. Its lakeside setting, complete with a marina and waterfront promenades, makes it a pleasant base for walks or boating trips. Nearby lies the Grangettes nature reserve, a wetland area formed by the Rhône delta and well known for birdwatching, particularly during migration seasons. The area also benefits from its proximity to Chillon Castle, just a few kilometres away, as well as vineyards spreading across the surrounding hillsides towards Aigle and the Lavaux region. Villeneuve also serves as a gateway to the alpine resorts of the Vaud Alps, such as Villars or Les Diablerets, both under an hour away. The lake's moderating effect on the climate allows for pleasant outdoor activities for much of the year. Quieter than nearby Montreux, the town appeals for its unspoilt natural surroundings and its central position between mountains and lake.
