Veysonnaz

Veysonnaz is a mountain village in the Valais region of Switzerland, set on a sunny plateau overlooking the Rhône valley, between Sion and Nendaz. Perched at around 1,300 metres above sea level, it enjoys notably high levels of sunshine and open views across the surrounding peaks. The resort forms part of the extensive 4 Vallées ski area, one of the largest in Switzerland, linking Veysonnaz to Nendaz, Verbier, Thyon and La Tzoumaz via a shared network of lifts. Veysonnaz has previously hosted men's downhill events on the Alpine Skiing World Cup circuit, which has contributed to its reputation within the skiing world. In winter, the slopes cater to both beginners and those seeking more technical descents. During summer, the area is well suited to hiking and mountain biking, with numerous marked trails crossing alpine pastures and woodland. The village retains a traditional Valais character, with timber chalets and a quiet atmosphere, making it a popular choice for family holidays away from the busier neighbouring resorts.
