Verbier

Verbier is a mountain resort in the canton of Valais, Switzerland, located within the municipality of Val de Bagnes at an altitude of around 1,500 metres, beneath the Mont-Fort massif. It forms part of the 4 Vallées ski area, one of the largest in Switzerland, linking several resorts and offering access to varied pistes as well as renowned off-piste routes, particularly around the Mont-Fort glacier. The resort is well known for high-level freeride skiing and has hosted international competitions on its steep terrain. In summer, Verbier serves as a base for hiking and mountain biking, with a network of trails leading to surrounding alpine pastures and views of Valais peaks, including the Grand Combin. The village retains an alpine character, with traditional chalets alongside a range of hotels and restaurants catering to an international clientele. The mountain climate generally ensures reliable snow cover in winter and mild summers, well suited to outdoor pursuits. Its proximity to Martigny and the Rhône valley makes it easily accessible from major Swiss cities.
