Schönried

Schönried is a village in the Saanenland region of the Bernese Oberland, part of the municipality of Gstaad in Switzerland. Sitting at around 1,230 metres above sea level, it retains an authentic alpine character, with traditional wooden chalets scattered across the surrounding slopes. Served by the Montreux Oberland Bernois (MOB) railway line, the village is a popular starting point for winter sports, particularly thanks to the Rellerli ski area, which offers family-friendly slopes and views over neighbouring peaks such as the Videmanette and Wasserngrat.
