Lenzerheide

Lenzerheide is a mountain resort in the Grisons Alps of Switzerland, sitting at around 1,500 metres above sea level on a plateau between Chur and the Albula valley. Together with the neighbouring village of Valbella, it forms a tourist region popular in both winter and summer. The ski area, linked to Arosa, covers several hundred kilometres of pistes suited to all levels, alongside facilities for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. In summer, the region is known for its extensive network of hiking trails and mountain-biking routes, particularly around Lake Lenzerheide (Heidsee), a central feature of the village where swimming, pedal boating and lakeside walks are popular. The resort has hosted international mountain-biking and skiing competitions, underlining its sporting reputation. The alpine setting offers views of surrounding peaks such as the Rothorn, reachable by cable car. The village retains an authentic Grisons character, with traditional chalets and a varied range of accommodation, from guesthouses to holiday flats, suiting both families and mountain sports enthusiasts.
