Tschagguns

Tschagguns is a village in the Montafon valley in Vorarlberg, Austria, situated on the River Ill right next to Schruns, with which it forms a closely linked twin settlement. Set between the Rätikon and Silvretta mountain ranges, it serves as a popular base for mountain sports. In winter, the Golmerbahn cable car provides access to the Golm ski area, known for its family-friendly slopes and views over the surrounding peaks. In summer, the same area becomes a hiking destination, with trails leading to alpine pastures and mountain lakes, as well as mountain-biking routes. The village retains a traditional character, with wooden houses typical of the Montafon region and its parish church. The area is also known for local crafts and mountain dairy produce. Tschagguns has a distinctly alpine climate, with snowy winters well suited to winter sports and mild summers ideal for walking. Its location makes it a convenient base for exploring the wider Montafon valley, combining unspoilt nature with well-developed tourist infrastructure, without the crowds of a large resort.
