Harol

Harol is a small rural village in the Vosges department, in the Grand Est region of France, located in the Xaintois area, close to Mirecourt and around fifteen kilometres from Épinal, the departmental capital. This part of the Vosges is characterised by rolling countryside combining farmland, meadows and small woodlands, typical of the Lorraine plateau. The modest-sized commune offers a peaceful setting, valued for its unspoilt natural surroundings and slower provincial pace of life. The surrounding area is well suited to walking and exploring the local rural heritage, with traditional stone-built villages and small parish churches. Nearby Mirecourt is well known for its centuries-old tradition of violin-making and instrument craftsmanship. Épinal, the larger neighbouring town, offers a richer historical heritage, notably around its basilica and the banks of the Moselle river. Harol therefore serves as a quiet base from which to explore the rural and natural heritage of the Vosges, within a semi-continental climate marked by cool winters and mild summers, ideal for outdoor activities throughout the year.
