Xonrupt longemer

Xonrupt-Longemer is a village in the Vosges department, in the Grand Est region of eastern France, best known for its location on the shores of Lac de Longemer, one of the main natural lakes in the Vosges mountains. The village borders Gérardmer, a well-known tourist resort, and lies within the Ballons des Vosges Regional Nature Park. The lake offers summer activities such as swimming, pedal boating and fishing, while the surrounding hills and forests provide an extensive network of walking trails leading towards nearby peaks like the Hohneck and the Col de la Schlucht. In winter, the proximity of the Hautes-Vosges ski resorts, particularly La Bresse and Gérardmer, makes it a convenient base for winter sports, with downhill and cross-country skiing available just a few kilometres away. The mountain climate, with regular rainfall and snowy winters, shapes the typical Vosges landscape of pine forests and open meadows. The village retains a rural, wooded character, valued for its peaceful setting and clean air, while remaining close to the shops and amenities of Gérardmer.
