Ventron

Ventron is a village in the Hautes-Vosges area, in the Vosges department, set within the Vosges mountain range and close to the Grand Ventron nature reserve. The village is known for its mountainous surroundings, fir forests and landscapes typical of the Vosges ballons (rounded summits). It has a small winter sports resort offering both alpine and cross-country skiing, appreciated for its family-friendly atmosphere and quieter setting compared with larger neighbouring resorts such as La Bresse. In summer, the area draws walkers and mountain bikers, with a network of trails leading towards the ridges and nearby passes, including the Col de Bramont. The region is also known for its traditional Vosges farmhouse inns, known as marcairies, where local produce such as farmhouse Munster cheese can be sampled. Ventron lies just a few kilometres from Cornimont and Le Thillot, in a peaceful setting well suited to nature-based tourism. The climate is mountainous, with snowy winters and mild summers, making it suitable for outdoor activities throughout the year.
