Vagney

Vagney is a village in the Vosges department, located in the Moselotte valley near Remiremont and La Bresse. This part of the Hautes Vosges area is characterised by a mid-mountain landscape, with fir and beech forests, meadows and the rolling terrain typical of the Vosges massif. Its proximity to resorts such as La Bresse-Hohneck provides easy access to outdoor pursuits: hiking and mountain biking in summer, alpine and cross-country skiing in winter. The region is also known for its traditional farm-inns (fermes-auberges), where local specialities such as blueberry tart, Munster cheese and smoked hams can be sampled. The valley's textile heritage, once significant to the local economy, is still visible in the landscape through old mills and industrial buildings. Nature enthusiasts will enjoy the trails leading up to the Vosges ridgelines, offering views over the surrounding valleys.
