Le saulcy

Le Saulcy is a small village in the Vosges department, nestled in the Vosges mountain range, close to Le Thillot and not far from the borders with Alsace and the Territoire de Belfort. This mid-mountain area is characterised by extensive coniferous and deciduous forests, deep valleys and a rugged landscape typical of the southern Vosges. The region is popular for hiking and mountain biking, and in winter for snow sports, thanks to its proximity to resorts such as La Bresse and Gérardmer. The climate is mountainous, with cool, snowy winters and mild summers, ideal for outdoor pursuits. The local heritage reflects the Vosges' industrial past, particularly in textiles and metalworking, still visible in some buildings and former mills in the surrounding valleys. Nature lovers will find numerous walking trails winding through the surrounding hills, offering fine views over the valleys and mountain ridges. Le Saulcy therefore makes a quiet base from which to explore the southern Vosges, combining unspoilt countryside with genuine rural charm, away from the bustle of larger tourist resorts.
