Contrexeville

Contrexeville is a spa town in the Vosges department, in France's Grand Est region, renowned since the 18th century for its mineral waters, traditionally valued for their beneficial effects on the urinary system and still bottled and sold under the town's name today. The town is centred around the Parc Thermal, a large wooded park home to the spring pavilions, the casino, and several Belle Époque buildings that reflect the golden age of French spa culture. The Art Nouveau railway station and a number of villas in the town centre further showcase this early 20th-century architectural style. The surrounding countryside, with its forests and green spaces, offers pleasant walking opportunities. Contrexeville lies close to Vittel, another well-known spa town, and provides reasonably easy access to Épinal and Nancy.
